Attachment at Island Hospital

Soooo Mummy Dearest, very shockingly, arranged for me to 'productively' spend my time back in Penang last July during the break before Rotations started...

ONE WEEK OF TREADING AROUND THE HOSPITAL LIKE I ACTUALLY KNOW STUFF!
(Haha and I was even mistaken to be a doc by nurses and patients. Sweat!)

I was under the supervision of Dr. Goh Huck Keen, Physician & Nephrologist (Kidney Specialist) primarily... and spent the first and last days with him.

Dr. Goh and I... (Some people say we look like brothers hehe =P)

Other days were spent under the tutelage of:
Dr. Aw Kok Teng, Radiologist...
Dr. Hwang Yee Chern, Paediatrician & Tropical Health Consultant...
and her husband, Dr. Aaron Lim, Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics Surgeon (incidentally, he cut up most of my bones previously) Haha

Camwhoring in the Surgeon's Changing Room with ma ' scrubs

Stoning in the Operation Theatre while Dr. Aaron was performing a laparascopic Shoulder Repair Surgery, he was blasting Techno and Electro Music in the background.

Dr. Aaron was explaining the anatomy of the shoulder joint to me. ROFL... But I don't know anything about that YET! *GASP*

ALL OF THEM were very very super nice and taught me a lot of stuffs lo. Treating me like a real deal clinical student. Pretty intimidated at first. Dr. Hwang even taught me how to carry out a neonatal screening. I KNOW HOW TO PERFORM THE ORTOLANI & BARLOW MANEOUVRES D!!! (to check for any congenital hip dislocation)

Lotsa stuff to tell la. But well I lazy la. Maybe some other time. Just wanted to upload some pics I took the other time.

Funny notice in the Radiology Department restroom. LOL

I don't like change...

And it's not about the exams that is driving me crazy... sighs

Am I spoiled? Definitely.

I like being in control of things. I wanna know what I am in for, so I can prepare myself. Aiya, you get the idea. Deviations and out of the expectated results are not my cup of tea. Hence, I tend to avoid circumstances/involvements with unpredictable consequences.

In this case, change from status quo!

But sometimes, ah! all too frequently these days, I have to accommodate and live with such "consequences". Guess I am growing up and learning how to accept things that "don't go my way!" That really sucks. But I just gotta try and do that. Life is a mega-rollercoaster ride.

If you really know me, well, you'd know the underlying scope of this post and its gravity.

Yeah, this is a short one. Time to get back to studying.

"Cheer up, self!" *internal monologue*

Happy Studying to M2/06!!!

A Valentine's Message

You are the 'you tiao' (Mandarin: Chinese Crullers)...

... to my 'kopi O' (Hokkien: black coffee)

-The Perfect Match-

Dear, come this Wednesday... We will still be miles apart. But that's okay. Because I know I am always in your heart and mind. You're in mine too! Everyday spent together is like V-day uh? *hugs* [Plus, you ARE coming back soon right?]

We have been through a lot through the past 6 months. The good and the bad. We had them all, plus the in-betweens. I guess we did manage to learn more about each other. And I am glad we are growing together, in more ways than imaginable. I can never tell you enough... *winks*

Thank you for sticking through all that rough stuff with me.

Thank you for accepting my good points and especially more so, my lesser qualities.

Thank you, for forgiving my mistakes.

Thank you for all the little things you have done for me (and I didn't show my appreciation).

Thank you for loving me.

For the first time, in a very long time, (I know) I am truly happy =)

Valentine's Day is in a week

But I will just sit here, alone, and wait.

Acceptance does not stop me from crying.
